Yo! I am taking 6 classes right now as a senior, AP Bio, AP Enviro, AP Gov, Band, AP English and AP Calculus. I am considering dropping AP Calculus in order to get out of school at noon and have more time to take classes at Community college. My counselor doesn’t think this a good idea, which I would understand if I were planning on going directly to a University. However, I am planning on going on a Rotary Youth Exchange and then attending community college. I was thinking community college classes might transfer more easily. What do you guys think?
At my community college, dual enrollment for high school students are free, so it is beneficial to take the opportunity. Of course, it is more work, but I believe the credits do transfer and are more accepted than AP tests.
If you have the schedule planned out and can take the workload then it is probably worth it
Thanks for your opinion! Would anyone else be able to contribute? I need to decide soon and my parents are unwilling to help me decide and my counselor thinks I should take math at all costs without considering my future plans.
I just think it might be nice to get out of high school at 12 which would give me more time for homework, work and extracurriculars as well as community college classes.
