Dropping a Class....

Sighs, it's that tiime of year again.

I got a C+ curved on the first science midterm. The class average was a B curved.

I have a 95% homework average.

1st Midterm and 2nd Midterms are 20% each.
Homework is only worth 10% of our grade.

Should I drop the class?

You aren't failing, so why even think about dropping?

Is it a class you'd have to take again, or could you just drop it for good? If you'd have to retake it, I'd just finish off the semester. If you didn't really have to take it or could just take another, then I would drop it--just my opinion though.

dont drop the course. Drop if u are failing a know u will fail. Ppl say there will be this gut feeling that you gotta drop the course. Fortunately I never had that feeling.

I had a gut feeling to drop a class when i had a C close to the end of it, so I did (im in a major when I need Bs or above). I'm glad I did, I'll take it sometime in the summer or another year, and it made my life much less stressful

i just dropped a class where i got a C+ on the midterm, but it was worth 40% of my grade. If you think you can get As on the second midterm and final (or at least B+s), I'd say stick with it.

Can you take it as pass/fail? I know there are deadlines but for example in my calc 2 class our professor was really nice and he said you could choose the pass/fail option until the finals (a lot of the people were happy about this because his midterms were hard).

i can't believe you guys are that against getting a C. you just take the grade and move on with it. it's not an F or a D....

I dropped a course in which I was probably going to end up with a C. However, I wasn't learning anything, I hated the professor, and I dreaded going to class every day. (It was Intermediate Italian--the professor said he wanted us to learn the more advanced verb tenses by "immersion." Immersion in Italy? Of course it'd work. In a 50 minute a day, 3 day a week class? Uh, no.)

If you're learning and not failing, just deal with it.

I completely agree with fendergirl. If you have a C so far and feel at least somewhat comfortable with the material, just take the grade and move on. Otherwise you will probably have to overload or take summer classes to catch up, which isn't something I would want. It might be a good idea to go to office hours for that class (if possible), so that the professor can help you personally.

i should have dropped my calc class...

damn D grade
