Hi! I have been admitted to Cal and have submitted my SIR.
Their admissions contract states to finish all my courses that I planned during for this spring.
However, I am struggling in one of my classes, and considering dropping the course.
This course is not part of IGETC nor is it part of my major pre-req.
Also I do will have 100+ cc units. Given the circumstances, do you guys think that I will be rescinded? I have emailed my admissions officer and she has yet to answer me. Also I called the admissions, and some guy just gave me "oh... wait till she emails you.. we're kinda busy here" routine. The last day to drop a course is this coming Friday, and I need an answer now!!

You will most likely not be rescinded… but try your best to get in touch with your admissions officer as a precaution. Did you try calling the phone number listed near her email/name? I believe that number is where you can directly reach her.

I emailed my Cal admissions counselor that I wasn’t able to take a class that wasn’t IGETC or major related for spring. I explained that I wasn’t able to take or replace the class due to schedule conflicts. All he did was update my admission conditions. I also have 100+ quarter units. My situation is a little different though because I never enrolled in the class in the first place.

I hope everything turns out fine for you!

Please keep us updated! I’m in the same situation for Irvine and it’s been 2 weeks since I notified them. Still no answer… Maybe you should call again and have them transfer you to an admissions counselor. Most UCs are lenient when it comes to dropping courses that are not related to your major. Best of luck!

Today is the last day to withdraw. In the end, I could not reach my admissions officer, both through email and phone. However, I did call the general line and SoCal transfer specialist and they both gave me a “go ahead” to drop the course.

Inb4 gets rescinded. l0l0l0l0l0l0l
