Dropping a course after being admitted to UCLA

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there is anybody that knows how serious it is to drop a course that I listed on the TAU. I am taking four courses, and I will be dropping two of them. I have completed all of my pre-reqs and IGETC, and I have over 70 units. The two that I will be dropping are not related to my major, and I basically took them as unit fillers. I'm going to call the admissions office later today, but I want a realistic opinion of what the consequence would be. The provisional letter says that I must be in good standing with my last school and complete all of the courses I put on the application, but is dropping two courses really enough to have my admittance rescinded?

Doing the same thing here. I actually never even signed up for 2 classes that were on my TAU since I didn’t know what I needed for IGETC exactly. If you call them up, please post your results here. I may call as well.

It matters somewhat if you drop them without a “W” or not. No “W”, pretty much no problems. Even if you get "W"s though, they shouldn’t rescind your admission. But you should definitely call them either way.

So I just got off the phone with a woman at the admissions office, and she said that if they aren’t pre-reqs or related to my major, and I have IGETC completed then it should not affect my admission. That’s a big relief to actually hear it from a person at UCLA, but I think I’ll still be nervous up until the day I’m able to register for classes. I would still like to hear from anyone who has heard of this being a problem, so please let me know.

did you ever hear back from them? I am in the same situation and submitted the change form on monday April 23 and I still haven’t heard back. did you?
