Dropping a course for a W

Hey guys!
So I'm a freshman majoring in psychology. I'm currently taking a philosophy course that I've been wanting to drop, but if I drop this course I'll have a "W" on my transcript which I really don't want.

What I need advice on is if I should stay in it or not?

Why I want to drop it:
- The class is held every M/W/F at 8:30 am. Sometimes I can't find the motivation to wake up so early and go. ):
- It has nothing to do with my major and I technically don't need to take it.
- It's really interesting and ideally I would like be a contributor in most of the discussions, except I can't seem to stay awake. Way too early for me to be thinking about life, morals, the soul, etc.
- I only have 10 minutes after this class to run across campus to my next class, which is a psychology class and actually relates to my major. I'm always a few minutes late and that professor seems to like starting lectures a few minutes early as well.
- I tend to push off studying/reading the material for the class because I keep telling myself that I'm going to drop the course, but recently I have been doubting the drop decision. So yes, I'm a bit behind on my reading, which means I've been staying up late to catch up, and it makes it hard for me to get up in the morning to go to class.....basically just a never-ending cycle. ):

Why I think I should stay:
- I don't want the "W" on my transcript.
- The class grade is based on 3 exams, and all the exam questions are given to us before we start each section. 4 questions are picked out from the bunch and we just write a paragraph or two on each question the day of. It doesn't sound too hard, but since I've been nodding off a lot in class, I'm not really caught up with what's going on. ):
- I know that I could visit the professor and TA's during their office hours to discuss the material and ask for help.

I just want to know if it's worth staying in a class even if I'm completely miserable just so I can avoid that "W" on my transcript.
I know that I can do it, but at this point I'm very unwilling and unmotivated, and it's only been a month into this semester.
I do want to transfer to another school after my sophomore year is over. Do you think a "W" in philosophy would affect my chances, even if it's not a requirement for my psychology major?

Thanks in advance for the good advice and for taking the time to read this! (:
Sorry it was a bit long.

Its really simple, if you can pass the course with at least a B, stick around, otherwise you are better off with a W. Getting a W is way better than getting an F? .
