Hi guys, I need an opinion.
I've already completed one semester of Honors Anatomy and on my college applications I put down that I'm going to take it next semester as well. However, I'm horrible at the subject (I got a B+ last semester) and I want to take AP Psychology in place of it next semester. I've already taken 3 years of high school science and 1 class of Conceptual Physics at UCLA. Also, I would have taken AP Psych last semester, but my school only allows students to take it 2nd semester.
I'm scared about dropping the class though and I'm not entirely sure if it's the wisest decision in the world. Considering that I got 2 B+ and 1 B- last semester (I did so poorly because of health reasons), I'm already really pushing it. Do you think doing this would risk my chances at Dartmouth?

I am sure that course rigor is important. That can hardly be doubted, I think. But to be honest with you, I also think that Dartmouth would rather have applicant who has taken courses in the fields that interest them, not in what looks best on paper. If psychology were a study I was passionate about, I would not hesitate to pursue it. In that, there is liveliness of intellect, of character - my demonstrated enthusiasm shows me for who I am. And I would then ask you, “What better characteristics could a college look after?”
