So, here's my dilemma... I'm currently enrolled in ESS C107 and I thought it would be an okay class but now that I'm in it, I'm not really enjoying it and not really understanding what's going on so, I'm considering dropping it but, I'm only enrolled in 14 units and if I drop it, I'll be under the full-time load. I was wondering if anyone knew when the finaid office checks to see that you're taking a full load of classes. I would hate it, if I dropped it friday and then got myself into trouble with the finaid office b/c I'm not taking a full-time load. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

finaid does have access to all your records, so they will know if you are taking less than a full courseload. what that means for your aid money depends though, so you should def. talk to the finaid people over in murphy hall.

Thanks but, after a few trips to Murphy and one to Campbell, I have learned that as long as you have enough units when FinAid does its quarterly unit audit, you can drop under full-time status and not be penalized since they only check once a quarter at the end of 3rd week.

So are you saying that we can go from 3 to 2 classes after the 3rd week because by then, the finaid will have "cleared" us (i.e. verified that we had min. 12 units) ... And if are forced into another class of our choice, what if they've already had their midterm and whatnot ! How is one supposed to catch up?

As far as I understand, that's how it works. And that's also why I double checked on everything because it would be impossible to catch up.
