I'm a third year math/stat double major. However, I am much more interested in math than stat, and intend on dropping the stat major. I was initially optimistic about stat as a double major since it is math-based with lots of useful applications, but I have come to really loathe it as I have taken more courses.

Anyways, this semester I am taking two upper-division math classes and stat 133. My math classes are wrecking me and taking up the majority of my time, but stat 133 is also a relatively time consuming class due to the long coding assignments. I am already pretty far behind in terms of homework and projects because I have had to spend the majority of my time on my math classes (in which I am still struggling.) I know it is past the add/drop deadline, and it doesn't seem like I will qualify for dean's approval to drop stat 133. Since I don't need stat 133 for my math major, I am going to switch my grading option to P/NP. My question is, considering how hard my math classes are, should I just stop going to stat 133 and take the NP, or should I tough it out and try to get a P?

(And yes, I am going to talk to an advisor before I make any decisions; I just wanted to see what others had to say in the meantime.)
