I took Shakespeare just for the heck of it this spring since I finished all of the requirements for my major (poli sci) but am realizing it doesn't interest me at all and I just wanna get out. I'm past the drop deadline, so I'll get a "W" if I drop now and it'll be my second "W" I've ever gotten. I'm wondering if this will affect my admission to UCB (Fall 2011 transfer). I will be replacing that class with an optional prereq class for my major if that helps at all. Thanks!

This just happened to me except I dropped two classes (weren’t IGETC, prereqs or part f 60 units). I emailed UCR, UCI, UCSD and UCLA and they all explained that it wouldn’t have any bearing on my admissions status. I’ve already been admitted to UCR and they said it wouldn’t affect my acceptance, UCI, UCSD and UCLA said there was no problem since they were in extra classes that weren’t required for me. Just be sure to email them and save your responses.

Yeah, I doubt that will be a problem.

You can have as much as ‘W’ on your transcript and they won’t care. However, try to minimize the ‘W’ if you want to go into a graduate school.
