I listed Cross Country on my mid year report for second semester. However, I'm dropping the class. It's actually off-season cross country, but I just wrote down Cross Country because that's the title on my transcript.

Do I need to notify private colleges?

Don’t worry about it. It’s fine.

Thanks for the response. Could I get another reply to confirm?

its no problem, trust us. now if you were dropping some classes, that would be another issue…

I would notify them of any changes. However, dropping an off-season Cross Country class isn’t going to impact you.

I concur with Billy Mc. I would send a brief email notifying them of the change with a brief explanation. This will also give you a chance to reiterate your interest in the school. I can’t imagine that dropping this class will have any impact on your admissions decisions.

If you change your schedule at all, you should notify the schools.

They won’t be upset that you’ve dropped the course, but they would be upset if they found out you didn’t notify them of schedule changes.

Okay. So I should email private colleges?

It just seems late to inform them of dropping a sport, because decisions are coming out on April 1st.

ask your guidance/ college counselor. I’ll bet he says its
1] not a deal braker at this point[ you weren’t recruited for CC were you?] and
2] its too late to matter.

No, I was not recruited.

I’ll email the schools. I don’t want to get a possible acceptance rescinded because of not informing them.
