Dropping a year-long class

How bad does that look? I'm currently taking Anat/PhysH and I really want to get out. I have this really strong feeling that I'm going to get a C this semester and it's my junior year... AHH!

This has been driving me nuts for the past few days. I need advice. My friend told me to tough it out and work harder for an A next semester and accused me of running away. I get what she's telling me and I can't believe I'm even thinking of dropping a class... but this is the most important year and...Argh.

Feeling really stressed now. What should I do? Drop or stay? I'm going to talk with my counselor tomorrow but just wanted some feedback from CCers tonight. I'm not sure if this means anything important, but at our school anat/phys is an elective and not a core class.

My vote is to stay. Learn from your mistakes this past semester, and make sure you don't repeat them. Trust me, everyone is capable of getting an A in any subject, it's just a matter of diligence.

i think you should stay too. Being junior year and horribly important, colleges will not look kindly on the fact that you dropped halfway through. It'll seem like surrender and giving up. I agree with your friend that you should try to get extra help next semester. Consider what aspect of the class or yourself do you think contributes to your present grade and whether or not it can be changed next semester.

Personally I would do almost anything to drop physics...but as I have been talking to colleges I have learned how truly BAD they think it is. One admissions chic I talked to said that dropping a course is viewed basically as failing a course...so yeah don't drop it as much as it sucks! I feel your pain, though!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I suppose logically, dropping is really bad. But argh I'd give a lot to have never taken the class in the first place. As of right now, I'm planning to stay. Thanks!

Stay and stick it out. Ask people for help. I'm in BC right now and I just want to go to AB so badly (I would have transfered but there's no room). I got a B- last semester. I hope I learned some stuff over the last semester about how the teacher's tests are like (trust me, knowing the format and what you'll be tested on is so helpful) and exactly how hard the class is. ANd it is a hard class. My first B since just about 4th grade.
