I believe it is the case that before September 28th, we can just drop a class and add one in its place. I am considering dropping my World Religions: Near Eastern 200 class for a different one, because I don't really like it much so far. In its place I'm thinking about taking either America and the Middle Eastern Wars 241, Intro to Greek Archaeology 221, or Classical Civilization 101. I'm a freshman. Which of these classes would you recommend and/or any other advice/things I should know you'd like to tell me?

Personally I REALLY wanted to take the middle eastern wars class but it wouldn’t fit into my schedule, but that’s because I am a poli sci major and that is an area where my knowledge could use some polishing. My roommate is a freshman taking classic civ and she really likes it, but that’s subject matter she is interested in. If I were you I’d just read the course descriptions and see what sounds intriguing to you and/or like something you should know more about, and check out the professors ratings on ratemyprofessor and see if there’s anybody you want to take. While that site is purely subjective sometimes you can pick up some good details about profs that are more objective. (like “take home exam,” my personal favorite.)

don’t add/drop… instead use the swap button.
I learned this the hard way.

Blackpen,

can i ask why use the swap button instead?

if you drop the class, and then something goes wrong and you can’t add your new class…
and then you try and sign up for your old class and it won’t let you…
