Dropping an AP class?

Hi,

Currently im taking 3 AP's, and one of them is AP Environmental Science. I got a B+ last trimester ( I know right? Trimesters lol), but I struggled so hard for this B+. I honestly thought this class would just be cake to add onto my transcript but this class (more specifically the teacher and how he teaches) just grinds my nerves. It's the first week of the 2nd trimester, and I have time to switch out, do you think it's wrong to switch out of an AP class to something more moderate like a standard class?

TL;DR Got B+ last tri in APES, hardest class I ever took (because of the teacher tbh), this trimester will probably be even worse, rather just bail out now in the 1st week, your thoughts on how this affects my admissions?

dont bail, try harder got an A next time.

@nothingto1 It’s not that simple mate to just try harder when I go to bed everyday at 2AM :/

If you got a B+ that means you still have a lot of wiggle room until you drop to a C :x. But APES is cumulative so idk, is it possible to get a tutor or something?

@TheReelThing Highly doubt there’s an environmental science tutor in my area :X. I know there’s some wiggle room to the dreaded C, but I really hate B’s too lol

Where do you want to go to school? What career aspirations do you have? How happy would you be if you continued taking APES and how much will it help you overall?

Strangers on the internet can’t offer viable advice without knowing a little more, and even then it’s really a personal judgment call :p

If for whatever reason this class isn’t what you want to do, switch out. No school is going to ask why. It’s a single data point among hundreds that you are providing. Assuming you are applying to the most selective schools out there, it all comes down to how your guidance counselor rates your overall academic transcript compared to that of your peers. In some schools, 3 APS is a lot. In others, not unusual at all and not very rigorous. Only you know how it’s viewed in your particular context. But even if this mean your schedule isn’t as rigorous as it could be, its information about what you like/don’t like. Use it to make better choices for yourself and get into a course that you do like.
