I've applied to 5 Univ. Calif. schools and also a private. My classes are
AP English Lit
AP Calculus (AB)
AP Environ. Science
AP US Government....but i'd like to drop this class and move to a CollegePrep class, which is easier and less work. However, on my UC applications I put "AP US Government" as a planned course, as it starts 2nd semester (I already completed AP Economics) I was wondering if i switched out of this AP class, if it would affect my admission status to any of the schools...UCLA, UCB etc. I know that if accepted, I must send them my completed transcripts. Other than that, they won't even know if I'm taking AP or not (at the moment) Also, if I need to contact them if i do drop and how....???

An admitted student on the cornell board called and asked if it would be all right to drop an AP course and the college told him absolutely not! So you may want to call and ask the policy.

thank you...i'll do that. i doubt ill have a problem contacting the private school...but talking with the UC's..thats a different story.

It might be different because you are not yet admitted. I was very surprised at their answer to him. However if staying in the AP would cause you to lower your grades and possibly get a D they could rescind your admission if they wanted. Double edged sword.

let me know what happens..im in a similar situation
