I’m a chemistry major at a community college and this anthropology class i’m taking right now is kicking my butt… I’m taking it for my last humanities requirement for the IGETC. Irrelelvant to my major prereqs obviously, but it’s still part of my IGETC. (I have a 4.0, if that helps)
My last semester in cc right now and I am awaiting response from UCLA, UCB, and UCSD, along with some private schools. I have already been admitted to UCI under TAG. Would it be too risky to drop this class, for the UC schools and the private schools? I have lately been struggling with depression and other mental health issues and dropping this class will help me so much right now in terms of workload.
Also if I do drop this class next week, then would I be able to wait until I get accepted to these schools to let them know I dropped the class? Or would that that be bad?
– AND, if it helps, I would have completed 65 units at this community college without that anthropology class. I will contact my schools and my cc counselors on Monday, but I just want to hear input for now. Thanks!
It does say that College of Chemistry does not require IGETC completion, and that UCLA also accepts partial igetc completion. Do you think it will still matter?
I don’t know. L&S at berkeley requires full IGETC and i heard it was now a req for all of berkeley. You should verify. Personally, i would just finish it. Having full IGETC makes you more competitive.
