dropping AP Calc = Rescission?

Hey everyone...

I'm thinking about dropping AP Calculus AB in my second semester (I'm not planning on taking the AP exam, so I'd like to focus on the AP classes that I plan to take an exam in). Do you think this will put my college acceptances in jeopardy?

Yes, I do. Dropping ANY classes reflects badly on you; doing it right after you’ve gotten all your college apps in is even worse.

If you’re going to a more math/science-oriented college, it may definitely hurt you. It will probably also hurt you otherwise too though.

It truly depends on your intended major, but it’s bad to drop a class regardless because it shows an inability to handle an established workload and indecisiveness on your part. It may hurt you less if you plan on majoring in a humanity or in the fine arts, however.

EDIT: Plus AP Calc’s a good class, you just have to learn to love it. Also, colleges don’t like to see you start or take an AP class, and not take the test.

i know AP Calc may be tough, but i recommend you stick with it and be a man
get a tutor or stay after class to ask your teacher more questions
review everyday what you’ve learned that day and definitely ask your friends to help you out.

You should really stick with it. Especially if you’re looking into the math/science field.
