Dropping AP Calculus BC Second Sem

Last semester I took AP Calculus BC and received a C. How would the process be for me to drop the class?

Would I have to email/contact all the universities I have applied to and tell them about my schedule change?

Since I barely passed the class last semester, I do not feel confident that I can succeed as this semester gets quite a bit harder. Would dropping this class really hurt me?

What is my best course of action and what advice do y'all have? Thanks.

You’re not going to like this answer, but, as the process varies from school to school, you might want to contact your school’s guidance counselor. He or she could give you the best answer.

However, what they’re probably going to tell you is to suck it up for a semester and try your hardest. ([Is it OK to drop a high school course? | College Admissions Strategies](http://www.collegeadmissionsstrategies.com/2010/02/is-it-ok-to-drop-a-high-school-course/)) The cited site is just one example of many college admissions websites saying the same thing… I read last week (on a thread about residences) that someone was rescinded from University of Illinois because their final transcript showed a dropped class.

If you do drop the course, notify the college through an email, and see if they have any precedent for senior year course changes. Best of luck :)

Thanks for the answer.

Also, how exactly do I “call” a school? It may be a dumb question, but I’m kinda unsure on what number to call.

Is it just “Admissions” office? Can I also write an email?
