dropping ap stats?

I am currently a senior and am considering dropping ap stats. This year my courses are ap lit, ap stats, ap comp gov, and ap chem. I took ap calc ab last year and managed to scrape by with an A the whole year. The same teacher teaches ap stats and his teaching style does not mesh well with me at all. I managed to teach myself practically everything last year independently, but this class is causing me more trouble. My anxiety is horrible around it and I am having panic attacks the night before every test (even though I’m doing well on them, I have a 98 in the class, but that’s just how anxiety works) making myself physically sick, and am missing a lot of class due to it. Would it look bad if I dropped it and took an online ap stats course instead? I just don’t know if it’s worth the hell its causing me.

That leaves only 3 academic courses (unless you were only listing AP classes) which might look a bit light to any of the more selective schools you are applying to.

Are you applying to any schools that require (or recommend) four years of math classes?

@tdy123 I am only taking 4 courses this year. The only school I am applying to that requires 4 years of math is university on Washington, but I can count chem as a math credit for them. I would take either a graphic design course in its place or take it online. I am more concerned about it looking poor to have a waived course on my transcript

Listen, I would honestly stick it out. 1. You’re doing well. 2. College stats, trial by fire, is way worse. 3. You think this anxiety is bad, if you drop now and delay the inevitable, college stats anxiety will be next level. You’re better off finding a reasonable way of coping with this anxiety than to avoid it. Unless that is, you know FOR SURE you will not need stats in college. And even then, you would likely need it for any master’s degree. Just my 2 cents, based on my own stats anxiety history.
