Hello, I was accepted into UMICH lsa with Early Action
and I was wondering what would happen if I dropped BC calculus for the second semester?
I have a 75 average in the class, and I don't know if I can even maintain that.
But if I drop BC calc, I wont have a math course for the second semester. Does this even matter?
I'm planning to retake calc anyways in michigan.

Y would you drop it if your going to take it again you might as well try and learn some of the material now?

You need to call and ask the university. Don’t just drop the class without letting them know.

KEEP IT. I did badly in calc senior year too but ended up getting a 5 on the AP (just make flashcards for basic derivatives/integrals and do lots of practice problems). Calc BC is about the most valuable AP here besides the sciences. You get to skip out of both calc 1 AND 2, which will open a lot of doors and save you a ton of work. Just focus and get all the remaining points this semester. One C is fine for midyear reports, but a D will look like pretty lame work.

If you really don’t want to do calc second semester, you can drop it with no one caring - as long as you’re not going straight into CS, engineering, or nursing, because umich recommends 4 years of math for those divisions and 3 for everything else (LSA, music, etc.)

Similar question. I am already accepted. I had a 3.93(never lower than A-) cumulative from Fresh-Junior Year. After this semester, I’m thinking about dropping AP Physics. I think I might end up getting an A-, A-, B+, B+, B+ and B-(Physics).

Btw, I got a 1860 on the SAT. So I feel like I barely got in and they’d be more likely to rescind me than someone who scores a 2300 SAT in the same circumstances? Or does your academic profile not matter?

@cocopuhfs has that changed that you get to skip calc 1 and 2 because on the ap guidelines it makes it seem like you still have to take it you just get bonus credits?

What if I was admitted into preferred Ross?
Would they rescind my offer? Would they just rescind Ross or both lsa and Ross?..

If I dropped bc calc
And have no math course second semester
But on the bright side my gap will be very high without b alc.( 97avg )
