Dropping classes and falling to parttime status

This semester has been a mess due to financial and mental health issues and I am thinking about dropping a class. The issue is that dropping the class would make me a part-time student. The main things that will be affected by this are financial aid and health insurance. I was told by the financial aid office that my aid would not be affected because it is late in the semester and the bill is already paid. However, I am having trouble trusting them (been burned in the past before). As for health insurance, I would have only the school's (which barely covers anything), until next January.

The class is within my department, but it is not required and it as totally optional. It is an independent study course for an internship that I had to register for as a class because the organization forces interns to do so. I had to leave the internship due to the aforementioned financial issues.

Question is, how bad does this look to grad schools and other post college things like fellowship programs? Otherwise, my record is fine. I have an above 3.5 GPA and have always been full-time. I am in my last year.

Such an overthinker
