Hey guys, I'm a senior and I'm thinking about dropping AP Bio (the only AP i've taken and my grades aren't good). What does this mean for the colleges I've already been accepted to (Penn State, Ohio State, Indiana)? Will this cause them to revoke admissions? What about colleges I haven't heard from yet? Should I call them? I want to drop before the semester's over, and I will be sure to pick up another elective, but obviously one not as rigorous. I want to show colleges that I'm not saying "screw high school". What should I do...HELP!

PS... I've taken all the other main sciences (Chem, Physics, etc...)

E-mail the schools where you've already been accepted and explain why you want to drop the course - then ask if this would be appropriate given the terms of your acceptance.

I'm not an expert, but I am a parent of 2 kids who've gone to colleges (UF and UT), who both dropped classes second semester. I can't remember what they were, but it wasn't an issue at all with the colleges. The high schools sent their final transcripts at the end of the year, all passing grades, and that was it. No word from the uni's.

You might call if you want to be sure, I bet the admissions people could help you, and they certainly know more than we do...

Hey thanks a lot for the answer. I called the admissions office for the colleges I got into, they said it really isn't a big deal...thanks again
