dropping foreign language: bad?

<p>Stanford EPGY, Cleveland State offer programs in some languages. In fact, if you just search distance education you will probably turn up hundreds of programs. I believe Concordia in MN also has a similar program.</p>

<p>I would really strongly recommend not dropping it for several reasons. One, language is fastly lost when you don't practice it. So that means your freshman year college class in foreign language will be horrible. Do you really want to start off with a bad GPA because of that? Not saying that you'll fail, but I know so many people who have that it's not funny.</p>

<p>Plus it's something you're going to need to find a job most anywhere anyway, so why not get a head start?</p>

<p>For the OP--are you good at the language now? If so, maybe you could take the AP test or CLEP test without taking the 4th course and get a high score?</p>
