Dropping HS

Ok now, say I dropped my crappy High School carrer right now as a senior with a 2.3 GPA and went on to get a GED and then after that I went on to a Jr College starting during this years spring semester and tried to transfer to some 4 year institution or possibly (tiny chance) a trade school.

I have a few questions about this and if a few knowledgeable folks could answer it I would appreciate it.

Would I be at any disadvantage with a GED rather than having a diploma with a 2.3 GPA other than that I just wasted that much time in high school?

What would the higher colleges look at then, test scores and my performance in Jr. College?

Lets just say this, I screwed up and Im looking to make it right in Jr. College.

Thank you

How many credits do you already have in college? What is your gpa at the jc?

your not getting what im saying... i am still in high school currently and that is what im contemplating right now, hence the questions below it

As far as being employed with a GED:
Employers are mandated under law not to discriminate against those with GEDs but suffice to say it does happen. They just don't employ you under another clause (ie they dont think you're qualified).

I would get the diploma then go to a CC.

either way,...just make sure you go to a jc and get 30 credits, then you have a shot at schools like UOregon, UTexas, VA Tech, the UCs, UDenver, Indiana U, Ohio State, etc...that don't require a HS transcript.
