Hey guys,

I've been in orchestra for 3 years, but this year I decided to drop Orchestra for Choir. My main reasons for doing this are that I really prefer singing and am in my school's acapella group. How much will quitting orchestra hurt me for admissions?

Thanks!

Not at all, IMO. If anything, it shows that you have broader interests.

^Agreed.

Colleges know that people, especially high school students, aren’t static. Many students discover new interests throughout their high school careers, and that’s perfectly okay. Don’t worry about it!

I don’t want to say this, but it might actually hurt you. Colleges like to see that you’ve pursued your interests throughout all four years of high school. You’ll probably be fine, though.

ya, i was thinking that colleges like to see commitment, but I guess xenophilia and chipped tea have good points too. if it won’t hurt me much, it’s worth it for me ;)
