Dropping out from the school during Senior year.

I am in my winter term of my Senior year in the highschool. I know dropping out from highschool during the Senior year is a dumb choice... but I cannot further endure attending this messed up school anymore...

Like many other international schools in Asia, my school is pretty messed up. In short, I feel the school is overall irresponsible and many of the teachers either do not teach or do not know how to teach. I am quite frustrated because I have never seen a school like this in my life. Actually, I was not the only one who felt like this. I have seen many other people who were disappointed like me and those who had a chance to move to other schools unlike me actually left the school.

I feel the longer I stay in this school, more time and money is getting wasted. I am personally considering of dropping out from my school and take GED and APs by myself.

Of course, my biggest concern is the college admission. I don't know how the colleges that already got my early action applications and the other colleges that will get my regular decision applications will think about this decision.
Even though I drop out, I personally do not think the schools will consider me as a hopeless juvenile delinquent right away since I have a quite good predicted IB scores (35 without bonus points) and a decent SAT score of 2060. Also, I am considering schools like Purdue and UCs and, as far as I know, they are reachable even for GED takers.

What do you guys think? Can you please share your advice?
Thanks!

Stay in school and make the best of it.

You are almost done- why would you quit now? Tough it out and get your degree. If you have already applied to colleges they would probably rescind any admissions if you were to drop out at this point.

I know, it sucks. But the best choice is to man up and finish HS, obtain your diploma. As takeitallin said, some colleges can rescind admission later on if you dropped out.

What is your situation that there is no other school to go to? You might be able to transfer to another school that has an IB program.

As for the GED, you have to be in the US to take that. So unless you are a US citizen or legal permanent resident, and can move back to the US right now, dropping out and taking the GED doesn’t make much sense.

Do try to pull yourself together, and just finish up this year.

Is there an online school you can do? Many of my friends are doing online school for their remaining classes since my school sounds a lot like yours.

Well… unfortunately, I never had a chance to transfer since there was no other international school in my country with an open spot.
I am neither a US citizen nor I have a place to live in US. So going back to US is not an option even though I was educated there before.

Also, my school does not offer any online courses.

You’ve made it this far, why drop out now? I know someone who got into Harvard, dropped out of high school, and got rescinded because of it. I wouldn’t want that for you.

Do not drop out - you run the risk of losing any acceptances. Stick it out – it’s only 6 more months.

Do not drop out. Do whatever it takes to get C’s and above. Soon you’ll get your college acceptances, high school will be over, and you’ll be fine.
