Dropping out, Need Some policy help

Hello all,

Due to personal problems going on in my life, I will be dropping out of college and likely not attending again in the future.

This is currently week 3/4 of my semester and I am passed the 7 day 100% withdrawl date. I am using the pell grant to pay for my semester at a rate of about $1,200. I go to City Colleges of Chicago, and for the link: City Colleges of Chicago - Drop a Class

MY question here is: I hear that if I do drop all my courses, I will have to pay for the semester. This seems outrageous to me. What I need is verification of this. If I drop all of my courses, are they going to come after me?

It seems like, yes, I may have to pay, but it won't be forced on me, instead, I will likely not recieve financial aid in the future.

Does this hurt my credit rating?

I can easily withdrawl now, online, but would it be better to talk to an advisor? Will they be able to wipe my payment slate clean?

How can I go about this in the proper manner.
Thank you

You might be all right since you completed 75% of the term. I would call them to make sure

Ah, I did not mean I completed 3/4 of the term, I meant that I was in week 3 or 4 of 16.

I don’t know about your school, but at my CC if you don’t complete at least 60% of the semester, you have pay a portion of it back. You should call them and find out tomorrow. Because right now you’re at 25%.
