Hello, I am currently a sophomore, second semester, at California State University, Fullerton. My major GPA currently is a 3.75 and it has always been my dream to attend UC Irvine. I have been looking into TAG programs at community college, and transferring UC Irvine from CC requires a 3.4 G.P.A. minimum,(says the TAG contract can be signed with 30 transferable credits), which is doable for me. So my question is: should I drop out of CSU Fullerton after this semester and enroll in community college with the TAG program? Is it too late for me etc.? I know it will take me a little longer to finish graduation but I don't mind that.

CC is definitely the way to go for UC transfers. I did the similar thing. Dropped out after first senester because I had bigger dreams than the school I was attending.

You have to have 30 of those transferable units at a CC though. If you have 60 units at CSUF than it looks like that might not be an option because you can’t retake classes and your you’ll have close or more than 90 units.

@ski156 After I finish this semester I will have 56 units total, and then 30 more at a CC would be 86. When you dropped out to attend CC did all of your CSU credits transfer over?

“UCLA only admits transfer students from 4-year institutions who are at the junior level (minimum 60/90 semester/quarter units; maximum 86/129 semester/quarter units).”

If you drop out of CSUF and try to go the CC route you might screw yourself over by being above the transfer limit.

I am at Santa Barbara city college for my sophomore year. My first year I went to washington

You have to take 30 credits at the community college you want to go to in order to tag any school.

In order to transfer to a uc you can only transfer In the fall, and applying the previous fall, and with a junior standing and not senior standing and with certain classes completed.

There is a credit limit of I believe it’s around, but no more than 90 transferable credits. So, you are cutting it pretty close being a sophomore already. When I transferred to sbcc in the fall I just recently got my transfer evaluation completed to see what credits transferred and how many credits I had, which total after this semester will be 86… very close as well. I submitted my transcripts in September. So go to the cc you want to go to and meet with the transfer academy and a transfer advisor there to help you decide if its still possible.

What don’t you like about fullerton, because my sister was thinking about applying?

^ The problem you have isn’t being a CCC transfer, it’s being over the unit limit and being auto rejected. Call the UC admission office and ask.
