Dropping Out?

I just finished my final diploma semester at my college and to be honest it went over very badly. For some reasons I didnt spend a lot of time with my coursemates so I didn't make many friends at all. I pretty much failed since the starting of my 4th semester (the diploma course consist of 6). I feel like I either chose the wrong college or I just went because everyone else in high school was going to college even without knowing what the hell I want to do with my life. But I'm in a major I want to be in, though its quite tough.
But I failed one of my papers for my final semester, and I cannot advance to my degree in late September. This means in anyway, I am forced to drop out of college for a year at least.
I feel its stupid to drop out after completing 2 1/2 years of school, and its already so near, but it seems so far. My degree costs me another 3 more years, and I feel I'll be lagging behind everyone by the time I graduate.
Should I apply for another uni to continue my degree? Or should I drop out for a year? HOW I am going to spend this "gap year" ? I don't have a degree yet, and dropping out with a diploma for my major is catastrophic. I'm hanging mid-air now. No where for me to go. I want to go traveling and such, study/work abroad but not many places will take you with only a diploma right? Are there any ideas of what I should do after dropping out? I feel like I wouldn't accomplish anything at all in my life now, and my parents have been pressuring me about our financial situation. I really thought of giving up, if it isn't for my parents' sake.

look into UTI. Plenty of hands on experience and it WONT BE A WASTE OF TIME. If you want real life experience, human interaction, and a year well spent go to another country and work.

For all intents and purposes, UTI is a scam, there are much better ways of earning a technical degree like trade school. Try something like community college to get back on your feet. Improve your grades and transfer back to a University. Although it sounds like your not from America, so I don’t know whether you have access to Community colleges.

For profit schools like UTI:

If the field and degree is right, then I’d drop out for the required year, go e.g. work on something and study on the side (for fun and interest). Then continue on the degree. As it occurs that you’d have to spare a year, then I’d use it to explore something outside of your degree field. Go work on something that you would like to know about, it’ll grow you as a person, you’ll learn new things (especially about the real world) and you might meet new people or find new interests. Just use that “down time” wisely and productively.

If UTI is indeed a scam then I have been misinformed. I have a handful of friends that have pursued UTI’s automechanics school and are successful now.
