i woulda loved something like that, all i did on the overnite program was meet my host and sleep, i wanted 2 see the Cal party scene as an individual, not as a tourist.

and hell, it's not like this guy was in any personal danger, it's beerpong and pot, i mean, it's not life threatening, nobody was driving.

Yes, Berkeley is the only school where people do drugs or drink, and all 100% of the students are guilty.

hahahahahahahahahaha please tell me she went to AEPi hahahhahahahahahahha this is too good....

hahahah that's my frat!

There are indeed quite a few alcoholics, druggies, and smokers here.

I just try to ignore them.

But no worries -- a portion of them flunk out of Cal within two years, too.

wait a second. just because someone saw alcohol and weed at a fraternity on a saturday night does not mean that everyone in there is an alcoholic and druggie. and even the people that partake in this have some very high gpa's.

And that the same doesn't apply to many other top schools, but dude bro, let's ignore that.

"a portion of them flunk out of Cal within two years, too"

And a portion of the people that stay home on weekends and play videogames flunk out within two years, too.

you'd be surprised how many of these drunkards and druggies are actually at the top of their class. the one motto i brought away with me from cal: "work hard, play hard". reward yourself for your efforts.

O RLY?

the one motto i brought away with me from cal: "work hard, play hard". reward yourself for your efforts.

Who hasn't heard of that motto? I like how "rewarding yourself" automatically equates to drinking (often while underage) and/or abusing illegal substances.

I don't see it as atuotmatic, and also would point out your diction of "abuse."

Isn't this a no brainer? Well, at the OSP program, some of the people I met there and myself went down Frat Row and attempted to get into some parties. We ended up at this one house (not frat) where someone was doing some acoustic set. everyone was drinking or smoking and i could smell the weed.

Big deal.

in reply to student: you reward yourself in the way you choose to reward yourself. this means different things for different people.

it isn't "who hasn't heard of that motto" - it is witnessing the discipline required to successfully achieve it that inspires.

until someone physically forces you to drink or smoke out (and no, peer pressure doesn't count), i don't consider either a problem on campus. you'll find it on almost every other campus - although we're apparently too wasted or high to hide it.
