Hey, I’m interested in applying at Pitzer but I’m worried about the drugs there. How are drugs handled by the administration and are there any sobriety support groups on campus? How many students use regularly?
You don’t have to believe any rumors of any college, especially in regards to drugs. Also, Cannabis is legal in California, so there is a good amount of it in every California college. However, if you want to look at alcohol use, Pomona beats Pitzer, hands down:
That’s more about policy and enforcement than use. For example CMC only had one violation compared to Pomona’s 60, but CMC had very different rules:
CMC’s policy allows for “responsible, moderate consumption of alcohol … in residential areas, including residence hall rooms, apartments and apartment balconies.” Carrying an “open single use serving” is permitted, as is playing beer pong if registered with the Student Activities Office.
Pomona still seems to be a fun place
