dsoc transfer

hi, im currently a freshman and anthro/soc double major at a top 25 liberal arts college. The further i get into college and soc, the more i realize that cornell's dsoc program is the perfect fit for my intellectual interests.

I'd love to apply for a transfer for fall 2011, but im not really sure if taking all the bio and chem requirements just for a chance of entering the program. natural science has never really been my thing. Is the Dsoc really that unique, compared to a simple soc program? Whats the point of all these natural science requirments for a non science major? what would you guys do in my position? im worried that taking chem and bio would hurt my gpa and mess up my entire college career, when in all likelyhood i wouldnt even get into program.

p.s. yes i mean 2001. i want some time to make up for my mediocre highschool grades and also i dont think id be able at this point to meet all the sophamore transfer requirments in time.

thx

*wooops… no i dont mean 2001, i meant 2011

bump(10 char)

I am not a total expert on this, but I’ll see what I can do to help.

You have to take some amount of natural sciences if you’re in CALS, no matter what, because that’s just a college-wide requirement. I don’t know if you have the option, but I know many students at Cornell take bio and chem for non-majors and that satisfies the requirements. They’re not in classes with pre-med students, and the level of the material is lower.
