Hi, I'm gonna have the interview of the Dual BA program between Columbia and Sciences Po. recently. Does anyone know something about this interview? Maybe some common questions that will be asked by the interviewers.

Thank you:)

Hey chengnuo1993, I also applied but have not heard anything back yet. Which country are you from?

China~btw. Do you know someone who applied this program before? I don’t know too much about the interview of this program, so I’m quite confused about how to prepare for this interview. Thanks:)

Don’t worry that means you got the offer. They just want to know more about you, maybe ur ps isn’t clear enough. But 99% interviewee got the offer

I got accepted after the interview. However, just because you got the interview offer, DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU’RE ACCEPTED. Some students from my region didn’t get accepted even if they qualified for the interview.

Anyway, they pretty much give you two options for the interview (via phone or skype…I’d choose the former if I were you. less awkward.)

Then they ask you generic questions…such as why you chose the program, some obstacles you had to overcome, why columbia, summer experience, etc. They also ask some questions regarding your essays and resume. So be prepared.

Then Curtis Rodgers asks you which campus you’d like to study in (Menton, Reims, Le Havre) and asks you if you have any questions. And please don’t ask stupid questions that can be answered by his secretary or found on the Dual BA website. If you feel like you need to ask questions, ask Rodgers something like, “Oh, how do you picture this program in 10 years?” (But don’t ask that because…I already did.)

The interview should last about 15-20 minutes…no longer than half an hour. I had fun talking to that guy and we had a great chat. Oh, and there will be an admissions officer or professor from Sciences Po. French people honestly don’t give a crap about your personal stuff. Columbia does. So the French interviewer’s gonna ask you what you want to major in, and if you’re familiar with the French educational system. (you can tell him that you’ve heard stuff like exposes, etc…but it’s very different from the American system…and that’s pretty much why I chose Brown over this program.)

Good luck and have fun.
