Dual citizen who wants to study in Canada and work in USA

I’m currently 17 years old living in Canada and I am about to start applying to universities. I want to study aerospace engineering at a Canadian university such as U of T or Ryerson. This is for several reasons including lower tuition fees and being near my friends and family. However, I would like to work in America after I graduate because of the greater opportunity for jobs in my field. I want to know if getting and undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering will allow me to find a job in the US after I graduate. I am a US citizen so I know I won’t need any sort of work permit but I’m still not sure about getting my degree here.

If the program is accredited through the bilateral accord with ABET you are probably fine. http://www.abet.org/global-presence/mutual-recognition-agreements/engineering-bilateral-engineers-canada/ Review aerospace job postings to see whether ABET or PE is required by the employers you aspire to work for, particularly in jobs above the entry level that you might be promoted to. You may find as you explore job postings by preferred employers they actually hire engineers with broader degrees EE and ME, degrees which would allow you to explore more opportunities in Canada. You want to go to school in Canada to be with friends and family, after a few years of college your ties to Canada will be even stronger.
