Dual Credit Hours in Question?

Howdy.

I am at UT Dallas and after researching careers in the past couple months have had a idea to switch to Business and attend UT Austin. Probably as a transfer the end of my sophomore year. I could have made it in to UT Austin as freshman with scholarship money, but UTD was more appealing for the program I was looking at.

My question is. I did dual credit during high school and didn't do amazingly well. I was curious if when transferring will UT Austin use my UTD G.P.A or will they use my total G.P.A including the dual credit hours? I will be re-taking my Econ2301 because I did it dual credit and want a better understanding.

Could anyone help me with this? I don't worry too much about EC's, working, high school G.P.A. and test scores but this has been bothering me. I would love to go to UT Austin due to networking with McCombs. So the question is:

"When transferring as a Sophomore to UT, will they use my dual credit high school courses in the G.P.A calculation?"

"How does retaking a course affect the grade that UT will use or adjust it to?"

Thanks.
:D

Transferred courses are not included in a UT GPA. You only get credit towards your degree with transferred courses. Only courses taken at UT count toward UT’s GPA.

If the question is in considering admission, will UT look at your dual credit courses? The answer is yes, but since you were previously admitted and chose to attend UTD, you already know this.
