Dual Degree

I’ve seen a couple topics that begin with one subject and end up talking about dual degrees. Do any current Penn students have any comments? How long does it take? Should you take some summer classes? How hard is it to reach the GPA limit? What courses should you take and which should you stay away from if you want a dual degree? Any advice will help…thanks alot (oh yes, please tell us all the horror stories and rumors about dual degrees)

It has started.

"Oh, with my SAS degree I won't get rich quick. Better get a Wharton degree instead. Yes, that is a good idea, Wharton is after all the mother of all schools and so prestigious employers will make pigs fly so that I will accept their offer."

I see this happen all the time. Especially during freshman year all the incoming students suddenly begins to think that the only real job in this world is investment banking. The Wharton fever - when all freshmen starts to think about dual degree.

It is barely a week into admissions. Relax. All will be revealed in due time or with a forum search. To be philosophical - is there such a thing as an original thought or an unasked question? When it comes to dual degrees with Wharton, most definately not.

well i think some of hte kids thinking about dual degree are ones that got rejected from programs like M&T or Huntsman, or didn't even apply cause they didn't think they'd get it...kids that really would like to get a degree from both schools to enhance their opportunities, not just to impress employers...i guess it is early..but I would still like to know the info

Well, mostly it is the joint degree rejectees and the ones who try to backdoor their way in. There are a lot of both.

As I said, do a forum search. Everything has been answered multiple times.
