At UIUC, is it possible to do a dual degree between colleges? Let's say Accounting and some kind of engineering? And even if it is possible, is it possible to complete in four years? If it helps, I'll have AP credits in Physics B, Calc BC, Physics C Mechanics, and Physics C E/M.

First, I don’t believe the College of Business even allows it. Second, I doubt you’d be able to do that in anywhere near 4 years, and third, although I’m sure you’ve done well in high school, I think you’d be doing yourself a great disservice trying to juggle courses in engineering and Accounting at the same time. However, you need to express your interests to your advisor assuming you’ve been admitted, or, if not, contact the undergraduate program offices at both colleges and discuss this with them.

What do you plan to do with an engineering (what discipline?) and an accounting bachelor’s degree? Consulting, start your own business? Do you want to be a CPA and a PE?

Do you feel there might be more value in getting dual degrees in accounting and engineering in 4-5 years as an undergrad versus getting your engineering BS a quick as possible and then getting an MBA (and might even be better to get the MBA after working as an engineer for a few years).

What employers are looking for dual bachelor degrees in accounting and engineering?
