Dual Degree

I recently got accepted to the Stamps School of Art, but I also applied to LSA for their dual degree program. However, the decisions for LSA have not come out yet. My question is, since I already got accepted to Stamps, does that increase my chances of getting accepted to LSA? If I dont get accepted, and i decide to attend just stamps, once I am a student will I be able to reapply at LSA?

The two acceptance decisions are independent, and the LSA one will weigh your stats more heavily (does not consider your portfolio like Stamps). Hard to say that one would have much bearing on the other.

If you don’t get into LSA, you should be able to add it according to the process found here: http://stamps.umich.edu/undergraduate-programs/joint_degree

Either way you’ll be able to register for any prerequisites you might need to take for your major, and most LSA majors only take 30-35 credit hours.

I strongly would recommend writing a letter/ email to your school’s Michigan rep telling them how interested you are in the dual program and explain your reasons. While you can definitely apply once you are there for a dual degree, it’s much easier to try to get accepted now and then you don’t have to go through the hassle of applying later on.
