I'm taking a dual enrollment course this summer, History, combined with another course (Math). I realized I got a 5 on my AP U.S. History, so there's no need for me to take the History course at the community college.

I wanted to drop the course, but if I drop it, the grade will appear as a 'W' on my transcripts. Will this affect my acceptance into college, or even graduate school? I have a pretty steady record, all other grades of community college are A's.

I want to drop this course because I have to do a lot during these last few moments of summer. I need to start working on my college applications, study for the ACT, and work my part-time as a lifeguard. If I could explain this to the colleges if need be, I believe my argument is valid.

Any opinions?
