Okay so basically I need help. I’m going to be a senior this year and have been putting off this problem for a while. Last summer I signed up to take dual enrollment classes at the community college. The day before I was supposed to begin I was admitted into a residential treatment facility for a serious health issue. I was in the hospital for two months with little to no contact with the outside world. I had asked my mom to drop the classes for me but she forgot to. And therefore I have been stuck with 2 withdrawal fail grades on my college (dual enrollment) transcript. I’m trying to file an appeal with the college to get them removed but I’m scared I won’t be able to. If I’m unable to is there any way I can just not report these grades to the college? Like do you have to submit your dual enrollment transcripts? I don’t care if I don’t get credit for the other classes I did take. I just don’t want the failing grades
See if you can get a retroactive withdrawal. Assuming you have medical documentation, you should be able to.
I don’t see why you couldn’t get them removed. My best advice is to go in with the attitude that they are on your side and the belief that everyone is willing to work together. (In other words, just don’t go in demanding & alienating the administrators.) Also…I’m not sure they would show up on any records that a college would see…if for some reason they won’t remove them.
You are correct that this academic transcript will follow you forever. But you have sufficient documentation to ask for the medical withdrawal. If for some reason that cannot be arranged, then a letter from your guidance counselor to the colleges that you apply to explaining what happened should cover things.
Wishing you all the best!
