Note: I was unsure about where to ask these type of questions. I believe that this belongs in the high school life forum, but I could be completely off base. In that case, I would appreciate it if I could be directed to the correct place.

I have a few questions about taking dual-enrollment courses while still in high school:[ul]

[] If I have taken DE classes on a college campus while still in high school, and the college I attend accepts these credits, will these courses and the grades I earned explicitly show up on my official college transcript? Or will I simply receive the credits?
[] If I have taken DE classes through a local CC at my high school, and the college I attend does NOT accept these credits, will these courses and the grades I earned show up on my official college transcript?
[li] Additionally, for both circumstances above, will these courses and grades be taken into account when calculating my GPA for applying to grad school (not med/law school)?[/li][/ul]
Thank you in advance for the help.

It will depend on the college, if you have a college list you can research this for the individual colleges or contact admissions at these schools

No in that case it will not show up on your transcript

This only applies to the first situation, it would probably depend on the grad program

As a general note about DE…Know that you can always choose not to use the credit for a college credit if you end up being unhappy with your grade

I just had basically all those questions answered for me as I am a dual enroll student.
- If taken at a community college, usually just the class is tranfered, not the GPA. I think if you want to go to grad school they’ll look at your community college transcript too though. I’m not sure what happens if you take it at a university and tranfer those credits to another university.
- I think it might. Idk haha. Call the college.
- Okay, here’s what the college I’m planning to go said to me. He said they will use my grad school pre-req grades from community college but the other grades don’t tranfer. I think they will come up with different GPAs from each seperate school. Not sure though.

Thank you both so much! You’ve been a big help (and relief!). Looks like I’ll have to check with BC for specifics on my situation, but this has been informative nonetheless.

:D no problem! Glad you’re working things out!
