I have a D+ (67%) in my dual enrollment English class (ENC 1102), right now and I am freaking out. I got a B in ENC 1101. I’m scared for how low it will drop my GPA and how it will affect my chances of getting accepted into college. I am a junior in high school. 3rd quarter ends in around beginning of March and my grade is not finalized for the actual college class till the end of second semester I believe. I have never had a D before all my grades are A’s and B’s. It is giving me anxiety and I am stressing out.
What’s your question? What schools are you applying to?
Can you drop the course? Many colleges have a specific date of which you must drop beforehand to avoid getting an F. It’s not gonna look good, but it’ll certainly be better than a D or an F.
If that doesn’t work out, I’d continue with the course and do anything to improve the grade to a C or better. If you end up with a D or F, I’d suggest talking with your high school counselor and explain any certain adversities that prevented you from succeeding in the course to see if the grade can be removed from your transcript or if the class can be retaken with no harm done.
