Dual enrollment

I am a high school senior, taking all my classes through the Florida Virtual School(homeschooled) and I wanted to know if I should take Dual enrollment classes for the rest of the year and next to earn my A.A degree, so that I can save money. And then transfer to U.F my top choice school?

Hi there.
I have been dual enrolled since my sophomore year of high school and will be graduating with an AA degree, so I feel like I have some experience with dual enrollment within the state of Florida. :stuck_out_tongue: Dual enrollment definitely helps if you’re looking to save money as well as just a year of community college once you’re out of high school. Since you’d be staying within the state of Florida, FL schools accept all of your CC credits as far as I know. My guidance counselor has told me that I do not have to worry about my credits transferring if I go to a Florida school. I would say continue on with CC when you graduate only if you really need to save money or if your high school grades are not that good, but otherwise I would say to apply to UF this year and whatever credits you accumulate should transfer over! Good luck!

Well I won’t be able start dual enrollment until January 15, second semester. So I will finish the year and have to do another year and a half before I get my A.A right? Then I can tranfer into UF as a junior.

About 500 students are dual enrolled through Santa Fe College. Many earn than Associate of Arts (AA) degree before their high school diploma, and enroll at the university of their choice (usually UF) as juniors after graduating from high school. Is it hard to be accepted into the Dual Enrollment program?
