Dual Major Applicants

If you are on the brown site and look at the class that graduated last year you notice this:
1489 graduates in the Class of 2004:

1221 A.B. recipients
259 Sc.B. recipients
9 Combined A.B./Sc.B.

Does this mean that not many people applied for the combined program, or that not many people got accepted?

IE did I make life harder for myself by applying for a dual degree?
thanks

To get a A.B./Sc.B. you have to stay for a fifth year. It is an option open to any Brown student, and you are allowed to change your mind about pursuing it at any point. In other words, your admission will be considered in the same pool as everyone else, A.B., Sc. B., or undecided.
By the way, you can double or triple concentrate in anything you want and finish in four years. The fifth year is to get two separate degrees.

Ah, that number had me scared. I was worried that through human error I had applied to a Huntsmenesque program and was making admission that little bit harder.

Can you double major in 4 years if the two majors are both A.B.?

you can double or triple major but you will only get one degree.
