Coming toward the midpoint of junior year, I am on track to completing the degree requirements for a B.S in Chemical Engineering and a B.A in German Studies. Currently I am declared only as a B.S in Chemical Engineering.

I understand my possible options are:
1. secondary major: probably don't need this because I will complete both majors without any overlap.

The description seems clear to me. It’s reasonable that 2 bachelors degrees would require more credits than 1, and completing 2 bachelors degrees would require more than 4 years for most students. It is possible to do 225 credits in 4 years without summer quarter, if you start out with dual enrollment credit. When I started at Stanford, I had about a years worth of transferable credit I had taken while in HS. At the end of my 4th year, I had completed over 250 credits, more than 200 of which through Stanford classes. I was a double co-term, meaning I was in 2 masters degree programs before completing my bachelors, so I was able to apply nearly all credits towards degrees.

I forgot to mention that I will be starting co-term the fall of next year.
I guess If i did not co-term, I could make the unit requirement if I transfer in my college credits from state college classes in HS, but I think the B.A.S option makes the most sense like you said.

I will have well over 200+ credits by the end of my 12th quarter as well, however, quite a few (~20) of these units are pass/fail (activities classes, and other classes that I just took for fun). I would actually be interested to meet someone who did a concurrent B.S and B.A in 4 years at Stanford, that just sounds pretty bad-assed.
