Dual Major SCS + Tepper

Hi guys,

First time here. I wanted some advice on what I could potentially do with a double major in Computer Science from School of Computer Science and BA(?) from Tepper Business at CMU. I've been accepted to both schools (applied EA since I did the summer course), and I'm kind of confused with what I can do with this after graduation.

Also, under Tepper's department it says "BA." What are the possible majors I could do? I went on their website and they have a BA in both Economics and Business. Which one would be a better choice if I want to add one of these on as a second major in addition to Computer Science?

You might get more advice on the business major forum and the Carnegie Mellon forum.

You don’t really need either one. A computer science degree from CMU usually leads to a job of some sort developing software for one of the big computer companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Oracle. The extra major is not necessary and would make your life unnecessarily hard at CMU. The only reason to pick up the extra major is if you are not really sure you want to develop software. Perhaps, you really want to analyze the global economy or perhaps you want to start your own business and feel the business courses will help you understand how to present your business plan to venture capitalists.
