"Dude!" Factor Colleges

No, it really doesn't matter. I will add that I started this thread out of pure boredom and an unwillingness to resurrect one of the old threads that died when people started arguing over whether or not
insert small LAC with fewer than 2000 students had international prestige or something of the sort....

it seems like the top 5 are HYP, Stanford, and MIT. big surprise :)

The "Dude!" Factor for the (only) the SOUTH! (woot!)

Duke

Vanderbilt

UVA

Emory

Davidson

Chapel Hill

Wasington and Lee

William and Mary

Tulane

UGA Honors

The "Dude!" Factor for CALIFORNIA!

Stanford

Berkeley

Pomona

UCLA

Claremont-McKenna

How about UNC for the south?

Yeah, that's Chapel Hill....

The "Dude!" Factor just for LACs...

Williams

Amherst

Swarthmore

Bowdoin

Wesleyan

Oberlin, Middlebury

Macalester

Colby, Colgate

Grinnell

Bates

"Dude" Factor for LACs...

Amherst

Williams

Swarthmore

Pomona

Middlebury

Wesleyan

Davidson/Oberlin

Carleton/Macalester

Bowdoin

Colgate

"Dude" factor for stoners:

1.Humboldt State
2.University of Montana
3.University of Oregon
4.Reed
5.Evergreen

"Dude!" Factor for Stoners, IMO:

Bard

Oberlin

Berkeley

Evergreen

Reed

Unfortunately, there is very little "Dude!" factor for any of the LACs, unless you hang around with a crowd of CC'ers and grad-school adcoms.

Yes, I agree. There is simply no "Dude!" factor for LACs. Good schools, but no one has heard of them...

"Dudette!" factor colleges!

Wellesley

Barnard

Smith

Mount Holyoke

Scripps

grumpy, no love for Bryn Mawr? I would "dude" it more that MoHo, certainly - probably place it right under Wellesley. I don't know what gerneral opinion is though.

(i don't go there btw, or to any women's college)

oops! I knew I was missing some. revised dudette schools

Wellesley

Barnard

Bryn Mawr

Smith

Sarah Lawrence

Mount Holyoke

Scripps

Sarah Lawrence is dude and dudette.

DUDE, Berkeley might have some sort of stonter reputation, but schools such as Oberlin, Sarah Lawrence and Reed put the reality to shame.

DUDE!

Reed 2010 representing.

Without those three...

Duke

Berkeley

Northwestern/Notre Dame

The Ivies are better in prestige than any of those...

Stoner version:

Humboldt

What's that one in Oregon that rhymes with "weed"?

Ear.

What were we talking about again?
