Dude, personalized holiday cards from georgetown?

I was so surprised yet touched that they made an effort to personally contact us. Georgetown definitely moved up my list because of this gesture.

They do send these to all EA admitted students, right?

Yeah man. Got one today as well. It is now unequivocally my number one. The admissions officer wrote in green pen and had elfish handwriting. This is a place I need to be. lol

i got one today too! the handwriting was… not spectacular but it really shows they care. i also got a phone call today too… georgetown is making its way up my list for sure :)

I sort of wish I hadn’t known so it would have been a surprise. Since Georgetown called me last night, and MIT sent me something, UChicago is officially the only EA school to not try to become my new best friend.

Just get ready- the cards are just the tip of the iceberg. Throughout the next few months, you’ll get recruitment letters from the president’s office, the career center, etc. Really, you might get something from Georgetown in some fashion every couple of weeks or so.

haha i got mine today - how personalized were each of your messages? i was shocked

bugaboo your username is my favorite i’ve ever seen on here.

Awww I don’t know if I got one since I live outside USA, and now I’m IN the USA for the winter vacation hahaha I hope I do get one tho >.<

Mine was so sweet. They were impressed by my commitment to dance. <3 I love EA presents.

yeah something else to bring all us deferred people down lol

wish i got one :'-(

The personalized cards really are amazing. In all honesty, it was little touches like that that made me choose Georgetown a few years ago.

Really, way to put another knife in the heart of everyone who got deferred haha.

@moralitycougar

Haha, thanks. ;)

&to all the deferred people, sorry! Georgetown has about the same regular acceptance rate for EA deferred people, so good luck!

so let me get this straight… EVERY EA acceptee gets one of these letters?
i live in ny and haven’t received one yet! =/
i’d like to know what aspects of my app they liked before i send in any more to other schools!

i haven’t got one yet either!!

:(
i’m in minnesota

@iheartmiles and decenela
Hold tight. I live in PA and only got mine yesterday, so you guys should get yours soon. Keep in mind you are at the mercy of your regional admissions counselor in terms of when they send out the cards.

Any internationals get this card yet? >.< Just curious

I loved the card :)

First an awesome phone call from a student congratulating me, and then the hand-written Christmas card! Georgetown’s personal touch is REALLY impressing me. My card said that they were impressed with my commitment to social justice and service. It was so awesome to see that they recognized that and appreciated it. I was just telling my mom how awesome it is once you’ve been accepted–the schools are so nice! (I suppose that what they really want is our money :P).

No special comments on mine, but the gesture was great. I was a little put off at first because the admissions letter was signed electronically, but this made up for it tenfold. Also lovin the healy hall picture on the card… it’s so weird that we could be taking classes there in like 8 months. Have you guys gotten emails from GAAP people in your area about meeting for coffee and questions?

Oh, and for all deferred, I did some math, and I figured out that if you combine the acceptance rate for both EA and RD for all 6,100 of you who applied EA, it comes out to about 32-33% total acceptance. So about 2,000 total will be accepted from that pool come march/april.
