<p>I have a letter of recommendation "due by January 25, 2013." The exact wording is this: "Applications must have a letter of recommendation by January 25, 2013. All applications without a letter of recommendation by the due date will be disqualified." Does this mean I have the 25th to submit it or must I submit it before the 25th?</p>

<p>I beleive you can submit it on the 25th (or have it postmarked on the 25th, whatever), and be fine.</p>
<p>I agree that this usually means that the postmark must be by the date, but I have run into one scholarship and some summer programs that specified that things had to be received by the due date. Best to call/email if you’re unsure.</p>
<p>I submitted it just in case, but found out it really was 11:59 on the 25th…oh well
