<p>When a college says that their supplemental forms (for the common app) are due on Jan. 1, does that mean that it must be in their hands/in their files on Jan. 1 or just postmarked by then? </p>
<p>Also, it is just your part (the stuff that students are responsible for) that must be there (or postmarked) by the deadline? </p>
<p>Recently at my school, one girl's transcript did not arrive until well after the deadline at her first-choice school. She was later rejected. Did her late transcript have anything to do with her denial? </p>
<p>Do colleges realize that it is not your fault if your school doesn't get the stuff it is responsible for out on time?</p>
