Due to space limitations

So I got my letter today saying I got into spring because they can't offer me fall due to space limitation. Why doesn't umcp just either accept students and reject? What is the point of getting accepted in the spring instead of the fall?
Also, I applied early. If they ran out of space, how are people applying for regular getting in for the fall?

To answer the last question, I’m sure they have some sort of percentage to accept EA.

It might not help, but here is the reality…basically you are being politely told waitlisted. If the EA/RD admits come up short in matriculation than the freshman connection people will be selected. If they make their numbers, they also know the avg that open up for Spring (grad or leave). They also knew the % of Spring admits that typically matriculate…this is not rocket science to them.

It’s WAY better than a waitlist - you ARE accepted. It isn’t my daughter’s clear first choice, but if it was she’d be very happy to move into the dorms in the spring!!! Some applicants were denied.

i just got accepted into the spring term as well,
and honestly the decision does not bother me at all.
There are so many things you could do that fall, whether
joining the Freshman connection or doing whatever.

Does anyone know if Spring admits that choose Freshmen Connection have a higher priority when it comes to housing over those who don’t attend?

I am assuming you mean people who go to CC and then come in for Spring. I would assume that your housing priority would be similiar to fall admits…the sooner you send in the check the higher up on the list you go. Either way you basically will be placed wherever an opening exists and when there is no more room left at the inn, than that’s it. Also the list will move around… some will leave after 1 semester, don’t like the school, miss home or the dreaded didn’t pull the grades to become an official student, it is going to be very fluid situation.
